Cork Envy Sculpture in the Denver Art Museum

Cork Envy by Thomas Arvid

This beautiful sculpture is perfect for wine connoisseur's and art enthusiasts alike! Thomas Arvid has an unnatural exceptional talent of capturing realistic moments with oil on canvas that are unparalleled. Art Business News (May 2003) credits him with "launching a major art trend..." his pieces not only capture the visual aspects of the moment, but also the pure emotion that that moment embodies. His pieces capture an almost ritualistic quality with the intricate details and mastery of reflection, light, and depth.

Call Fascination St. at 303-333-1566 for more details.

In the past he has focused purely on 2-D, but pushed his boundaries by adding another dimension and we are glad he did! Cork Envy is 20.75 inches long and 8.25 inches in diameter. He transforms the clay, creates the mold and casts the model in resin. It is then hand painted, to bring the cork the realistic imperfections and unique details. It looks great accompanied by multiple corks, vertically and horizontally grouped together. It is being showcased at the Denver Art Museum and Fascination St. Fine Art Gallery!

"I’m passionate about painting in a new perspective. I try to enhance the most intriguing aspects so that others can see with my eyes. Creating sculpture is a lot of fun because it brings the elements in my paintings off the canvas and into life.” Thomas Arvid.
